Description

Houndoom. I wanted him to be a intimidating and dangerous guard dog. Based on a doberman and ibex. He's pretty heavily build to cary the enormous horns.

Very nicely done on this piece! I can see the effort clearly put in, keep up the good work.

Vision: The aspect given here is very appealing to look at! While this holds true, I believe the way this Houndoom was portrayed could have been accented more with a little bit more of an intimidating background, possibly by making this one darker and more shadowy, or something that highlights it's dark and fire typing a little more?

Originality: Low marks for this one, simply because it's a Pokemon, and many choose to draw Houndoom in such a stance. Bumped up its rating a little bit though, simply because I haven't seen a background like this for it before.

Technique: The shining star of this piece. You can clearly see the skill input into this drawing. I can see every little hair as it reflects the light, and the shading is realistic and well done. If technique were to be improved, you could work a little on anatomy (mainly of the legs), but the flaws are minor and nobody's perfect.

Impact: The image itself is very striking, however, I would have been more stricken by it if the Houndoom was looking more in my direction. You could also portray it's nature by drawing a tint of blood on its nails or teeth. Either way, I wouldn't complain one bit, as this piece certainly snagged my attention.

Overall: Not the most original, but still a masterpiece in itself, full of life and detail.
