Description

commission for :icondragonofdarkness1992:

I'm really happy with this painting. I never though it would end up like this. Anyway this took me only six hours. My hands pretty stiff because I drew this non-stop.

Lost in a this lifeless rocky landscape were the people rule. He keeps calling for his species, but hears nothing only the whisper of the wind.

There is not a thing about this painting that I can find fault with.

Everything from the coloring to the shading and lighting to the perspective is crafted perfectly in place to create a seamless foreground and background.

The atmosphere is totally spot on with the description (which one isn't even required to read in order to get a good idea of the mood of the piece). In the distance there is a man-made structure, indicating that there is (or was) the presence of humans. But the main focus is on the dragon, who calls out -- perhaps in vain -- for his own kind, in the desolate, lifeless land that reflects so perfectly his solitude.

But he is facing in the direction of the light source, which gives the picture a feeling of hope for what lies ahead, both chronologically and physically.
